No other area of Alaska offers more fishing and recreational activities than the Kenai Peninsula.The Kenai River which has produced the current world record king salmon of over 97 pounds and 8 of the top 10 world record king salmon. In addition to the large runs of king salmon (80000+) fish, the Kenai River usually has a run of a million red salmon, 300000 silver salmon, and, in even number years, millions of pink salmon. Trophy trout and Dolly Varden also swim the river in great numbers particularly in the fall (September). On the Kenai Peninsula the fishing season is long - running from early May until late October. We offer accommodations from economy to deluxe, located in quiet areas on or near the Kenai River about 15 minutes drive from Soldotna and 2 1/2 hours from Anchorage, the closest major airport .The fact is, the Kenai Peninsula offers the visitor to Alaska much more than the finest fishing in Alaska. On the Kenai Peninsula the angler is able to use virtually any fishing system with success. You can fly fish, spin fish, troll, drift, bottom fish or any other system. There is the opportunity to see the real Alaska while you are fishing and in an area of less than 1 person per square mile.
